The old “Greater Ruovesi” (Suur-Ruovesi) parish — from which Kuru, Virrat and Ähtäri were later separated — is one of the key genealogical areas of the Pirkanmaa region. This book presents transcriptions of the oldest surviving communion registers (rippikirjat) from four parishes:
- Kuru 1745–1756
- Ruovesi 1725–1758
- Virrat 1749–1755
- Ähtäri 1752–1758
